The Arthritis Foundation set out with an RFP in attempt to find a local vendor to take its widely used Track + React Web Application to mobile. After unsuccessfully locating a suitable vendor, the Arthritis Foundation, based in Atlanta, GA expanded its search to include ISBX based in Los Angeles, CA. ISBX was approached by The Arthritis Foundation to create a mobile experience for its successful Track + React Web Application for deployment onto both iTunes as well as Google Play. The Arthritis Foundation also requested that we work in close partnership with its third party software development team who was responsible for the backend services and API development.
ISBX was selected as the preferred vendor as a result of our extensive experience in mobile application development as well as our existing relationship with another globally recognized entertainment brand also based out of Atlanta, GA. ISBX approached the challenge by proposing to re-design the entire experience from the ground up, in order to better suit the application for its intended Smartphone and tablet audience. As a result, the mobile application consisted of a refreshed User Interface while retaining all of the identical features found in the popular web application. ISBX leveraged its design experience by creating a custom portrait interface for both iPhone and Android smartphones, and a larger, landscape orientation for iPad and Android tablets in order to take advantage of the additional screen real estate. ISBX worked closely with the client's third party software developer to integrate with the existing backend system to enable users of the existing web application, identical login access through both the iOS and Android applications.
The result was a mobile application that allowed seamless usage between both web and mobile, preserving all of the users inputted data and results regardless of the platform used. Upon release, the application saw an immediate surge in usage, and demonstrated strong engagement as evidenced by long usage times as reported in the integrated analytics tracking suite. ISBX has since undergone a subsequent round of maintenance to keep the applications up to date with the latest versions of iOS and Android.
